July Swaps!

For July the SWAPS are image transfer flowers and plants. And Washi Tape, I had no idea what Washi Tape even was until I found a link on how to make my own.

Besides one of the ICADS this week calls for Washi Tape so I'm glad I went out and got the supplies to make my own.

To transfer stuff I'm going to use the masking tape trick and print some flowers off the interwebs.

ICAD

Here are three more cards for July...

July 5 - Stripes, the rainbow one is the sky, the green and blue one is the ocean or a lake that the train is going by. One of my favorites so far for July and we've just begun.

July 6 - Pattern, found it on the interwebs and drew it with colored pencils.

Everybody's been painting with tea and coffee so I think I'm going to try that on my next card. And then the painting over Elmers Glue on some card in the future. (I haven't made July 7 card yet)

July 2 ICAD

Today was fun, yet crazy. 25+ kids showed up at the library today to draw and paint. We weren't expecting that many and some kids had to stand, not enough chairs for everyone. When the big group left I got a chance to use some water colors and make my index card for today.

More Index Cards

Here are the start of the cards I made for July, once again I'm ahead of myself. Crafting when I can cause its so darn hot and out swamp cooler only just bearly keeps the house cool. Thanks be to our fans or I would melt. All we can do is wait on the rain to cool things off.

July 1 - Lizard, I think it looks like hes climbing up a stain glass window.

July 2 - Happiness, going to make this one at the library with some paint on Tuesday.

July 3 - Rainbow, makes me want to get a bag of Skittles.

July 4 - Nail Polish, I wanted to use real nail polish but then realized I didn't have any so I used paint instead. Traced my hand for this one, hope it doesn't look creepy. :P

One Index Card a Day

Sorry for not posting much of else lately. Almost done with week 4, ready for week 5, already have the prompts. June 2 will be a special card. Happiness! I'm helping with a painting class for kids at the library and I plan on making my card there. Its a rear treat when they let you use paint in the library LOL. But here are my last 2 cards, again working ahead of myself so I don't get left behind.

Today is make a comic book at the library. I think I'll go cause it seems like fun, never made a comic strip before. I'll put it in my art journal I think. 

Corset

So the June SWAP I've been putting off is the corset. I couldn't think of anything until the other day when I saw one on the interwebs. Here's my corset for the SWAP. I also had fun with this project and enough pattern paper left over to make one for myself.

One Index Card a Day Redo

I forgot the A in Someplace so had to go back and fix it. Funny thing is I drew it and sat back to look at it and didn't notice the missing letter until I uploaded it to Facebook this morning. So I had to go back and fix it.

One Index Card a Day!

Yesterday on the ICAD Facebook page I saw a card with pop up trees on it and I liked it so much I had to try it. Here is my June 21 card - Summer. With a little pop up sandcastle. I actually used 2 cards for this one, but one was a card I had messed up on so I didn't mind cutting it to make the top background section of the card.

June 20 - Italy, can't decide if I should add some color to the little clip arts.

Tie-Dye T-shirt

The other day (I just forgot to post it). A teen craft at the library was making a tie-dye t-shirt with Sharpie markers.

You'll need...

1 T-shirt
Sharpie markers
Alcohol
Squirt bottle
Cardboard

1 - Put the cardboard inside the shirt so the colors don't bleed on the other other side of the shirt.

2 - Color your shirt or draw designs on it using plenty of different colors. (I drew flowers on mine)

3 - Squirt the designs with alcohol in the squirt bottle away from face and others. (this was tricky to do in the library)

4 - VERY IMPORTANT - Once the shirt is ALL the way dry put it in the dryer for 15 minutes. This will set the ink.

Art Stuff

Yesterday was fun, they put me in charge of a craft at the library where I'm volunteering. It was fun, we made paper bag beaver puppets, here's mine.

Summer Reading marble magnet.

Another cute library craft last Thursday for a Man Of Steel premier party was super hero masks, here's mine.

Purple felt with fake gems on it, I'm not happy with how the eye holes came out.

And today was a good day for staying inside away from the heat and doing some art journal crafting pages.

The 6x6 page I got from Pattie now holds a place of honor in my art journal. December 12, 2012 was my wedding. That's why I wanted her 6x6 page :)

Hooah! From the Urban online Dictionary. Its a Phonetic spelling of the military acronym HUA, which stands for "Heard Understood Acknowledged." In the United States Army it indicates an affirmative or a pleased response. 

Sgt: "Y'all got the game plan?" 
PFC(s): "Hooah sargeant!" 

I put the definition on the back of the card.

One Index Card A Day

Here is my card for June 14 - Junk Mail. I wanted to get some Geico junk mail cause the gecko is fun to play with but all I got were dumb old ads. So here is a bowl of Summer fruit. Enjoy!

Also only 2 cards left until we hit week 3, think I will work on those today, since weekends are spent spending time with the husband playing games. None if very little creative stuff gets done on Saturday.

My personal goal for this challenge was NOT to just print something out, color it and slap it on a card, but if I had to I would also draw something on the card.
